The other day I had a 3 hr carve turn into a 4 hr carve because the board wouldnt move due to the tracking roller o ring missing. Very odd. Never had that happen before. Put a new o ring on and it worked like a champ. Just my thoughts.

I don't know if the O ring helps the tracking I do know that even with the O ring on my two machines it leaves marks on the wood as if it was doing a sewing pattern with pinwheel marks, I also use those marks to orientate me when flipping the board over.
I noticed when I was experimenting with a rotary jig that if the x belt moves forward while carving and slips under the board, the process stops. That is, if the x moves forward and the tracking roller does not, it stops. So, I think that your tracking roller slipping. If it needs the O ring not to "slip" I would wonder. My tracking rollers leave marks in the wood. There is no way mine would slip. Check how hard the roller pushes against the wood and how easily it spins.
