It appears then that ptn files are backward compatible. A good thing! What about the coffee cup?

We will have to ask him. My question is why does it think it's trying to load a project?

Ok, one more quick experiment. I Created this pattern in 2.001 with a group - save pattern and then I saved it in the 2.001 pattern editor. See if it opens in 1.187.

Well this is good news that the patterns are really backward compatible. Something funny was happening with the coffee cup pattern.

My question is: If someone else creates a ptn in the 2.001, can I open it in the 1.187 import window? (Was the coffee cup and example or was it a ptn from an mpw in 2.001?)

Can someone with see if Designer 1.187 will open the attached pattern which was saved in the 2.001 pattern editor?
