    Have you tried just using three Times New Roman Font Capital I's... III, or I I I in designer? You could use three together or each I separately to space them better. I'm sure there are other fonts that would work just as well or maybe better.

    I have always used the Time Roman Font (check which one works for your application). Always capital. I think you only need to use the X, I, L, M, V for most of what you will do. Also play with the kerning (stretching) a bit too to get the best result. I don't think I have ever run across a font made just for Roman numerals.
