I use the little electric pump that came with one of those blow up mattress it puts out just enough air to
blow the dust and shavings off and it saves having my big compressor from running so much. Just thought I would pass this along.....

Is this after the carve, or during?
There used to be a post where someone routed the exhaust back to the bit using small flexible tubing.

In my opinion the biggest issue is with very fine dust that can get into the encoders, bearings, and other moving parts. Shavings are not so much of an issue. A dust collector does a good job of getting rid of the fine dust and most shavings. A blower moves the fine dust around in the machine and may do more harm than good.
