    Default Designer slow to react

Brand new, out of the box HP all in one. Running Windows 8, which I hate, but that's about all they sell now. Designer is the only program I have loaded and I only have one pattern in library. I'm opening it as Administrator. When I try to use it, there is a long lag between a command and it reacting. Additionally, it won't upload a simple text pattern. Crashed it. Makes it too frustrating to use. Would appreciate any advice. Thank you.

I am sure you installed correctly but just in case... http://www.carvewright.com/assets/se...ndowsVista.pdf

After installation got to "edit" "preferences" and try increasing the cache settings.

If all that fails try License Cleaner under Troubleshooting installation. Also try Edit > Preferences > turn off graphics acceleration.

I appreciate everyone trying to help. I've installed and reinstalled several times. And turned off graphic acceleration. I'll try cleaning the license tonight, Connie, before calling over tomorrow. I know you guys are busy getting ready. Thanks, Lawrence. See you on Thursday, Floyd.

Try typing in "Windows Experience Index" in start, search
