    Default smoother transition using feather

attached is something I was playing with. I want to have a softer edge on the feather. I did an outine on the deer, then a path offset with a 1/2" feather. The question is , is there an other way to make a softer and longer sweep from the bottom of the pattern up the sides. This is another argument for more choices for the "feather option".
    any ideas would be great.
just playing around until the conference.

I got a nice result with puffing. Puff the outline and invert. It is too large to attach with puffing and I cannot make a pattern because it is not mine.

Edit: I made my own example and attached. Made outline - bubble puff - inverted - grouped - made pattern.

I made a pattern out of the puffed path offset. This is very nice is it not? Another reason to get both the 2D (path offset) and 3D (puffing) add ons!!

Thanks bergerud again, I do own 2d and 3d, I had never thought of putting outline and puffing together at the same time.

    Thanks again

    Great technique idea Bergerud,
We appreciate you pushing the envelope with ideas like this and this particular process meets a need I've been trying to solve for a week or so. Very timely and very on the mark. Thanks as always. Will we see you in Houston this week?

No I am afraid not. I would like to go and maybe I will sometime in the future. I am an American stuck in Canada! Since 9-11, I cannot get into the US without a passport and if I did I could not get back without a permanent resident card. The only clean way out of this mess is to become Canadian but that can take a few years. So - here I am.

Cool. I would love to see it. I do not usually post stuff that I have not carved. (I think you should go back to the original thread when you post the pictures just to keep it all in one place.)
