Thread: New room divider project

  1. #1

    Default New room divider project

This is the first project that I felt was unique enough to post photos of. A friend was looking for a room divider to "cleanup" (her words) her sewing area. I offered to put one together for her and this is what I came up with. The mountain background was from a photo my wife took and the trees and eagle were from the pattern store. Hope you enjoy it. Very nice. Nice touch with the see thru sky over the mountains.

The glass inserts really embellishes an already top notch project. How did you attach the glass?

Thanks for looking! Sharon - In order to keep the back of the panels flat I carved out a 3/16" region and then used Dow Corning RTV silicone sealant # 732 to attach the glass. A fused glass instructor that I had a workshop with told me about the silicone. He also told me to lay down the silicone in lines (with an open end) so it will cure properly. He used it to attach glass panels to aluminum for mounting on the wall. Doug
