I just started a 6.5 hour carve, will the machine have any trouble running that long? I have never done a carve this large, so I am a bit nervous about it. I am doing the carve in pine, and have a DC hooked up.

Should not be a problem. I wonder what the record is?
I have done an 11.5 hr carve before with no problems. So you should be fine.

Think I have heard a 24hr carve or near that. I have done 15.25 hr. Just check the sheath often for heat. Motor and machine do just fine.
I take it you found the problem u had yesterday?

Lynn,
The screws on the Z motor bearings were a bit loose. Strangely I cannot get one of them to tighten down, I am not sure why that is at the moment. However I tightened the rest down and decided to give it a shot and it seems to be doing ok. I would be a liar if I told you I wasnt nervous about it though!
The screw being loose might have enlarged the hole during operation, thus not allowing it to be fully tightened.
27.5hrs on the stallion doorframe! Check the flexshaft often! Make sure it is lubed.

Measure twice... and then sneak up on it!
An easy way to cut the carving time on the stallion carve is to feather the outside rectangle at 1/2 inch. That should save 2 hours.
thanks so much!
