    Default first light box

    I just got out of the shop and finished my first light box I think the light is to bright it's 4" wide is there a certain size light that that i need or is it more trial and error .

    What kind of light and size of bulb are you using?

    A lot of people have used the puck light http://www.lowes.com/pd_240014-75774...3434814&rpp=32

    They put out less heat compared to the standard bulb.

    Some have also started using LED lighting.

    it's a 20 watt LED light bulb, I wanted electric with a switch for off and on, you know technoligy and all were getting spoiled !!!!!!

    One observation. You evidently inverted the image, because everything that is supposed to be black is white and visa versa.

    I use LED light strips, gives a much more uniform light.

    Good observation Connie!

    LED is good since there will be little heat build up inside the box. It appears you have the light mounted to the back of the box. If so you might try mounting to the bottom and also line the inside of the box with foil or other reflective material...
