Thread: front compression roller problem

  1. Default front compression roller problem

    i have a c version machine and the front compression roller says released all the time. when i push it up to compress it i can here it click but it still says released i have blown it out with air like than manual says but still not change and help would be appreciated thank you.

    You might have to take the end cover off of the roller to inspect it and insure there is not dust build up that will prevent the switch from actually making contact..

    Use caution removing the keyboard side of the machine as the keyboard cable can RIP. Here are some pictures of the switch in my "A" version. It might be dirty inside the switch not letting the contacts connect. OR a wire has broken off the switch. If it showed compressed it could be dust on the resting area but it looks like a dirty switch or a broken wire.

    i removed the 2 screws and the plate and there was some dust in there i blew it out and reinstalled the spring and bolted it back in place and it still will not say compressed

    You might take the switch to Radio Shack or any electronic store and ask them to test it for you. I guess you could switch with back switch and see if the problem goes to the rear
