Thread: drifiting upward during carve (moved)

    What would cause the carvewright machine truck to drift upward during a project? it will start out doing great, then it will get to a point where it will not carve the wood at all, but it will continue through to the end of the project. I don't have pictures to show, but it started out plunging into the wood when it started the project. Now it drifts upward, your thoughts

    Sam, I moved your post outside the troubleshooting PDF sticky as it is only for troublshooting PDF's.

    As for your problem, this symptom has been reported several times (the search button in the top right of the screen is your friend). It is usually a loose Z-axis cable or a bad Z-axis encoder. You can use search to find more information on the cable. You also might want to call CW tech support they can help you determine the problem.
