Scanning Probe won't show up

Has anyone seen that when you plug in the scanning probe the machine still tells you to plug it in and can't go any further? Any troubleshooting tips?

Check your user options and make sure you have it set for "cover"

With the card in the machine
Press the “0” (Options) key on the keypad.
Using the up/down arrows, scroll down to the number 5, “User
Options” menu item and press ENTER. You can also simply press
the “5” key when the first option appears.
Scroll down to Scan Probe. Make sure it is on “Cover” instead of “Z
truck”. Press ENTER to toggle between the options.
Press stop until you get back to main menu. It should say Project
Menu.
