    Default Some painted Address Signs

I've been working after the Holidays as time was available to finish some street address signs for family members. I'd planned to just stain and spar varnish them for outdoor use. I've seen so many handsome painted designs here on the Forum that I though after carving them I'd take a try at painting them even though it's been about 15 years since I've really done any artwork with a brush. So I bought a new supply of basic Acrylic colors and searched out my scattered brushes and pallet, and the mixing began.

These are photos from this afternoon as the two signs were painted over about three hours. Now I'll let them dry thoroughly for a day and then apply two coats of high gloss spar varnish.

The fox is the symbol of my son Kevin's home based business Empire Canvas Works so the three are for him, his wife Beth and grandson Alex. The two Loons are for my Brother Al and his wife Linda on a lake in upstate NY with plentiful loons and beavers. I hope they will enjoy the address signs. Thanks for looking.

You should paint more often, excellent job! Have you ever tried using clean gel varnish as a stain controller? Does a great job of evening out the color and preventing bloches.
