Great pattern, thanks for sharing. My wife has a friend that has several horses and will make a great gift for her.

They are here also, but so are the 1x12s. It can be a nice look if done right though.

University of Maryland Baltimore County. Unlike Alabama, they don't have a football team.

Thanks for sharing - the Horsehead Platter looks Great! (They both do, but that one caught my eye).

Took a look at the .mpc - and noticed the thickness is 1.0" (reference earlier discussion). I was under the impression that the maximum depth we could cut was around .870.

Did I miss something in an upgrade? Perhaps this does not apply to a cut out?

    Always something to learn!!!

    Thanks!

If you flip the board over, you will notice that the cut out does not have to go all the way through due to the back being carved also. I did have one board that was slightly over 1 inch, (1.03 as I recall) and I got a warning message that it was thicker than cut through would allow and asked if I want to continue. When you say yes, it will then cut only as deep as it can. However, in this case it went all the way through because it only needed about .650 to get through to where it was carved out on the back.

    Hi Ken...

You can CARVE to about 0.8" deep (i.e., the 1/16" Tapered Carving Bit or 3/16" Ball Nose Carving Bit)

You can CUT to 1" deep (i.e., the 1/8" or 3/16" Cutting Bits)

    Happy Carving!
