    Default Dresser project

Well, after 2 years it is finally finished. Actually I started 2 years ago looking for a pattern. Took me 3 months to figure out the blueprint. Got the top put together and then something came up where I had to take a year off from Carvewright and my other hobby. Got started this past August but folks kept asking for help and more delays. Kidding myself about getting it done by Christmas which turned out to be no joke. Thanks to Casino Duck after I had started this past August decided I should be taking photos as I went along. SharonB encouraged me by her BEAUTIFUL finishes to do the painting. Everyone on this forum gave me encouragement to just DO IT! And a big THANK YOU to everyone. Someone out there may still be able to help me. I took all the photos, downloaded, and made into movie maker. Once I learned I could not download that to this forum I went onto youtube and spent another hour getting signed up for that. Then learned, as far as I know, it only downloads photos and videos not the movie maker. Dang, I had titled a lot of the photos to explain what was going on in the movie maker. So, I ended up downloading all the photos to an album. I am tired right now and will just try to download the album address or what ever you call it to youtube. The square piece showes how I made the 4 corners and there are 9 different dovetails for each of the 9 drawers. I hope by the photos you can figure out what was going on. Sanding, cutting, painting, more sanding, more sanding, dry fits and glue ups. Much thanks to CarveWright, Grizzly, Fast-Joint Joinery System, Inlace, and Lawrence McFadden gell finish. Well, here goes

Oh yes, the last photos are the Armoire which I made before this Dresser. Now all I am waiting for is some high school football players to come and move this thing up to the bedroom for me. It weighs somewhere around 1 ton, maybe 1.25 tons I moved that Armoire with a dolly, and ain't doing that again! Thanks for looking!

That is one GREAT project, fine workmanship, and dedication on your part to finish it up. A big thumbs up to you on this wonderful project.

That turned out absolutely beautiful! I can only imagine how many hours you put in to the project! Good luck with getting it moved. It will all be worth it once it's positioned in its spot and put to good use!
ps - it worked great as a slide show in google...

Well, it might have taken you a FEW days to put the dresser together but what a gorgeous piece of furniture you ended up with. Looks like it came off the showroom floor of a high-end furniture store. The painted designs adds so much to the piece. One thing for sure... it makes my back hurt just thinking of trying to move the dresser.
