Ive worked a bit with bone and antler but not on the cw. Though it will stink (quite badly) it works like many woods and i cannot imagine that it would damage the machine.
Just my. 02 and i am not an official lhr rep

Lawrence, I bet you have turned the antlers on your lathe. I have some north Canadian antlers, they are hard as rocks, and oh do they stink when turned, and do they ever dull the tools fast. I am told because of the really cold temperatures where they came from they are denser and harder.

I have made many pens from antlers, and found it to be an easy turn

Leo me too until I got that Canadian antler. It was very hard. It did turn and buff up great. Yes part of it became a pen and a knife handle. I still have one side of the rack.
