    Default First project with carving

Wanted to post pics of the first project with a carving on it. This is a walnut saddle stand, I have built several of these from different woods, and it has a eagle head on one end that I carved on my CW. I used maple heartwood for the eagle. By the way, this is an example of the walnut I have available for sale that I talk about in the buy sell trade section.

I agree... Walnut and Maple go together like peas and carrots! Thanks for all the comments. Now if I can just succeed in creating a design to cut the parts for these out in the CW, it would sure make life easier.
