thank you both very much both patterns will be very helpful thanks again
hello thanks again for the help i have a question maybe you could help when i use the software and put the pattern you made badbert it shows it sunken into the board is there a way to bring it up so that it is not sunken down i dont mean to invert the lettering but all around the pattern is sunken thanks again for help and i hope that i explained myself ok.
In the designer software is a function called "Carved Region". Probably a box like button on top all the way to the left. First select a square, circle or oval and set an area surrounding your carve. Then select the "Carve Region" button and set the depth to desired effect. You may have to invert the pattern to make it pop out of the wood.
Please read the "Tips and Tutorials available to you. The one that shows you what I described is called Pattern Layering and Composition in Designer. You will find lots of great info there.

If you look at the MPC, you should be able to to reverse engineer how I/we can get around this problem.

I made the image into a STL file and set up the MPC file with a Cut Path. You need the board edge to stay under the rollers.
The STL file is too large to post.
