    Default Solar powered

    I have been experimenting with solar power in my shop . I was wondering if any one else had tried running the carvewright
    on solar and if it would harm the machine to run it on a modified sine wave . Right now I only have 400 watts of solar and 2 -12 volt 94 amp hr. batteries feeding a 12 volt to 120 volt 1500 watt modified sine wave inverter I have no problem supplying power to my lights and a fan and I have used it on a quarter inch drill and it seems to keep my batteries charged too. If any one has solar I sure would like to hear from you . I live in Florida so we have plenty much sun all year .

    I made my first carve using the solar panels it was a three and a half hour carve .the board was oak 30"x6"x3/4 I carved 8 eagles 5" wide by about 2" tall at a depth of .500 , The machine ran flawlessly on solar power , I was making blanks for wooden hinges . I still need more batteries and some more panels but they will come in timeAttachment 56816

    Thats 50 amp 12 volt dc going to the inverter but it wasn't constant amp load it fluctuated I just happened to snap the picture at the high point. The out put of the inverter is 120 volts ac I didn't check the amp draw of the machine.

    Really nice shop. I noticed that you have removed the cover from your CW. Do you run without a cover and if so how does the vacumn work.
