Cutting out a pattern

I am tring to cut out a pattern that my wife traced on a paper and scaned. I don't want it carved but I want the lines cut out. Is there any way to do it?

Here is a quick trace and dxf import. I assigned the 1/8 cutting bit. I wouldnt run this project as is because there are no tabs to hold the inner pieces in. But it should give you a start.
