    Default BIG MONEY.... ADA Signs....

Now that I got your attnetion.... Something that the CW could do and DO VERY WELL is White Corian ADA Signs... We are talking BRAILLE SIGNS... A HIGHLY REGULATED Industry with CUT and DRY Regulations that MUST be followed....

IF I have peeked your interest.... Check out the Sawmill Creek Forum on Signs, I borrowed a Sign Picture just posted. This sign was done with a CNC with a V60 and 1/8 inch end mill bit in Corian. The Braille balls can be purchased and getting the Braille CORRECT is the challange.... Keith on that forum teaches classes on the proper way to do it...

There are a few different threads on Sawmill Creek about ADA Signs. ADA Signs sell for a Priemum... Once you get this ability dialed in... Make a few samples.... OFF you go.... I believe that the CW is EXCELLENT for ADA Signs....

As for bringing in the Braille Drill pattern, I am wondering if Corel Draw and DXF or is it DFX CW is the way to bring in the drill patterns...

The Material is White 1/4 inch Corian.....

Some tips that Kieth has posted is that He makes a Key Hole Slot in the back of the sign to aid it supporting it to the wall.

He also makes a floor stand jig to get the distance between the floor and the sign standard.

Painting can be as easy as spray let dry and sand off the excess or use a tape mask for the design.

He has done a few Buildings of them.... MANY public buildings you visit on a day to day DO NOT have the ADA Signs... IF you had that ability and OFFERED that service... Money in the bank....

I may look into this soon... But I have so many other irons in the fire now and have been working 7 days a week...

    Good Luck !!!!

You could ????? In reading the Sawmill Creek Forum, I remember seeing a few posts about just using the Braille font sometimes does NOT give you the correct signage.... Font... I mean Typeface....

I am interested in learning more about it... Even in MY Rural Area, I bet I could Scare Up some Business.... Even the Summer Camps... We have many in this area.... Township Buildings, Restaurants.... Or Rest AU rants... My Initials... AU... Firehouses that do BINGO.... a Public Event.... This is a un tapped market....

    Good Luck,

The Sawmill Creek Signs Thread has a Sticky for ADA and this link is provided with a Corel Draw Plugin to make ADA EASY.

And a Quote from the Plugin License... Good Info....

While the use of braille production software has greatly assisted in the transcription of print and electronic materials into braille, there are considerations and limitations that producers of braille must recognize:

    1. All braille materials should be proofread to ensure braille format and accuracy.
    2. Braille materials produced by persons who are not certified by the Library of Congress should be proofread by a knowledgeable person to ensure braille format and accuracy.

I don't know Braille, but I would hope these guys would: http://www.compliancesigns.com/RRE-1...on_Black.shtml

There example is different from your picture AND what I get with the Braille font from Duxbury. Thankfully they have lovely graphics of (I assume) what they should look like. I would assume that copyright would not apply because these designs are Gov't mandated.

This is a Sawmill Creek 2007 Closed Post that walks you through all the aspects of making the signs with input from many Sign Makers... A great starting point on the research into getting started in ADA...

Finding someone Certified to check your work would be a requirement in my opinion. Easy as in Corel Draw you can save the file as a PDF and email it to someone to check. The paper trail would be peace of mind since I cannot read Braille either.

Very nice idea! My ex father in law is blind, so I've spent a LOT of time around braille. I actually had a thought about this. I have a scrabble game that he gave me years ago with hard plastic letters that also have braille on them. He purchased it trough the Council of the Blind I believe. That would be a huge help in double checking not just the accuracy of the characters, but also in getting a "visual" of how they should be placed on a hard surface. Just a thought, not sure if it helps.
