Here is my first attempt at painting a mountain lion for a customer, hummmm, I guess I need more practice but she said it looks great so I am happy.

If the customer is happy, be happy.

I know what you mean about painting being tough though-- trust me I know! I found that when I switched to a truer "3d" type pattern it made it possible for me to "dry brush" over black which helps the natural-looking details stand out a bit.

I'm definitely still working on it.

Nice looking job and thanks for sharing,

    Lawrence

Oh the apostrophe!!!! Good job Tom!! Lol just kidding about the apostrophe I tell the customer it is grammatically incorrect, but if they want it I will put it in. But please if anybody ask it was your ideal! I have yet to put an apostrophe on a sign! Sorry it is a thing with me!!! Nice job on the sign!

When I paint a animal I find one on the net and try to copy the photo. I paint the main color first, let dry and then add the other colors. Looks good Tom! I don't post unless I like the sign!

Thanks guys you are the BEST!! Rick thanks for the suggestions on painting, the design did not have the apostrophe in the sample,as I do most of my customers now and she asked me to put in. Just can't out guess them. Thanks Lawrence for the suggestion, I will try that next time. I repainted it several times until I was pleased. A friend gave me a PBS Bob Ross cd to watch, he makes it look so simple.

That's a darn good paint job Tom. Pat yourself on the back. I like the bright blue background as it sure makes the cat stand out.

Pretty Cool.. I see nuttin wrong with the paint job... Sometimes we're our own worst critics... That's a good thing though cause it keeps us striving to do better... If U settle, ur done...
