I'm sure glad I bought this pin vise from Harbor Freight a while back, I've never really needed it before but it sure came in handy for these.

The box is made from a glue-up of Birdesye maple ¾", 2 plain maple boards 1¼" and one plain maple ¾" thick boards. Overall it's 10" tall, 6" wide and 4" deep. I sprayed Don Jer buff for the felting in the drawers.

I got a new bandsaw last year and I have been wanting to try these bandsaw boxes for a while. If you want to see a few more (made from solid pieces of burl and cedar) click the LINK (towards the bottom of the page) let me know what you think of them.

If your interested in the process, let me know and I can post a bit more about this or put up a link to another woodworking forum that has it posted (in case Carvewright doesn't want me wasting their bandwidth with non-carvewright posts?)

    Thanks ~Mike

That is wonderful - Judson Beaumont's work has always impressed me and this rendition is no exception- I love how you worked making it a bandsaw box into your design, and it looks wonderful.

I hope the rest of the people that live in your house aren't jealous. You have a new fan! I have been intrigued with bandsaw boxes for a few years but just last month got a bandsaw with 12” throat and a 7 ½” clearance. I’ll look at the new stuff you suggest and review the dvd’s and books I’ve been collecting. You have inspired me.
