Thread: KET Super Saturday ... .

  1. Default KET Super Saturday ... .

KET or Kentucky Educational Television is our local PBS affiliate and they invited us to their Super Saturday event. The idea behind this event is to share science with kids. We got to share the world and the art of CNC with them ..... AWESOME. The final count was 1634 people in 5 hours and that's just the people the registered at the door.

It was amazing to watch the kids ... young ones - figuring out the software and being amazed by how the machine makes those images appear in the wood. I would like to think that there may have been a future software and mechanical engineer that visited us. A Big Thank You to Lisa Meek at KET for the invite and Michael "The CNC Geek" Culp from www.DragonWorksStudio.com and Lindsey "I'm not an Architect" Elza for all of your help.

Yes that is a CarveWright machine in the background ... we got to share the software and the machines with the kids. It is truly amazing to watch how quickly kids get it. Thank you again to KET (Kentucky Educational Television, PBS Affiliate) for inviting us to this "Super Saturday" ... we are looking forward to next years event.

I'm very proud of you, Jason. Again, you have demonstrated your commitment to introduce and expose people to the remarkable capability of CNC technology (particularly CarveWright CNC). This event is especially cool - showing young people how they can take advantage of the creative possibilities will impact them positively for the rest of their lives! Hats off to you and the others who helped with this special event!

Thank you all for the nice words ... it was an awesome event. We are going to start contacting the local schools to see about being part of the tech days, assemblies, whatever they will let us be part of. Having the van and trailer has made this all sooooo easy.
