    lawrence, if you see this:
Was the hummingbird cut done as a "carve" in raster mode with the carving bit, or was it done in vector mode with the V bit as well? It looks great either way. If it was done with the V bit, how did you get the vector pattern? Or are you just that good an artist?
    Inspiring!

The hummingbird was done in vector mode with the v bit. I made the vector pattern using Corel Draw and the Carvewright DXF importer using a picture I found online a while back. The process is VERY quick and there are lots of pictures on the net that work well for doing vectors. Simply do a google search for any item... say.... car and then click on "images" on the top. Then click on "line drawing" on the left hand side... pick a picture, then save it, then import it into coreldraw and turn it into a bmp (if you didn't already save it this way) then do a centerline trace and export it as a DXF. Then import the DXF (the DXF importer completely changed the way I make patterns, I LOVE IT) and then add the bit and depth---

Let me know if you have any more questions -

I've been doing some stuff for a friend of mine that builds rustic furniture, and I thought this vector pattern would be a good one for a bench top. I used sharpie markers for this one - it sold the first weekend he brought it to the farmer's market. Thanks for the pattern! I love it!
I never could get my old Corel to work with Windows7, and I don't have the dxf importer, so I'll be looking at the new software when I get the chance to...
