Play with the merge style under the carving menu.
Will this help?
Steve

having problems with the merge function going to have to look in the tips and tricks on using it.
here is a picture of the carve from Bergerud file.
I made a sled to put it on and to carve but forgot to put two sided tape on the bottom. When it drilled the center out it spun and broke my bit.
trying another carve with a few mods and This time i double side tape it down.

I did not think you were going to carve it! I just offered it so you would see how to use the merge. I only put about a minute into it. I think if I was going to make such a shape, I would actually mill it out instead of carve it. It would be faster and the sides would be smoother and vertical. Here is a 5 minute effort. Just an example! Correct the dimensions and check it over carefully if you mill it. (the mill circles are 1/8 apart so you might get some paper thin rings between them.)
Thats cool Berg,
looks like the 1/8 mill and the 1/2 mill takes around the same time.. 00.14.56
I played with it some,
i tried messing with the merge function and I need to read up on it more and watch bud videos. I
I have my wife sister over and the computer in the shop is a little slow to watch videos.
if I keep noise going no one comes out to the shop.
Here is some editing i did to the pattern you posted earlier bergerud
hanks for your help I will read up on doing the merge function when everyone leaves. The way it looks they may never leave.
