Default Carving the top and the sides of the box are no problem

Is there a way to dovetail the boards so they fit to one another so the assembly can be done easily?

Do a search for "finger joints". I played around with the idea enough to show it can be done. As for dovetails, I do not think anyone has figured out how to do that on the CW yet.

I recently submmited the EZ Box project in the pattern store. The machine creates all the joints and the hing mortises.
