Thread: I finally get to post a project!

Default I finally get to post a project!

After a lot of trials, I finally finished (and finished with finish) my first biggie project. This was a sign for the day camp where my wife works and my son plays. It was cut out of 2" oak, with 1 glue up. I sanded the surface with 320 grit sandpaper, applied three coats of Marine Teak Oil. Then I applied Martha Stewart Metallic Paint (Antique Gold color) and then sealed with eight coats of spray poly (eight so far). Really happy with how it came out.

    First picture is unfinished...

Man, that turned out REALLY nice in the end. I'm glad you stuck with it and hope that the projects get easier for you.

Great piece of work. You said before that you used teak oil, very nice. Thanks for sharing.
