If you are talking about in Designer go to the carving list, select the object, or place the curser point on the object and select, click on Layout, hover the curser over center, (first on the list) the arrow over will show both vertical and horizontal as blue, click on either and it will no longer hold to center, go through this process untill you have selected and uncentered each object of concern in each direction of concern. You should be able to select all the object you want to move by chosing the first one, holding the shift key and selecting the rest. You should now be able to move them together, unless one has been held in place by manually typing in a distance from the edge or center.
I apologize if I am oversimplifying or not understanding the question. I well remember once being soooo frusterated with an old computer that took paper tapes on reels with square holes punched to communicate with the machine. (That should tell you how old I really am) I couldn't make the machine work because no one told me you had to pull the paper tape past the first section of square holes that were in a straight line.
Sometimes a thing can be so simple once you already know it that you wouldn't even think to explain it.
Good luck, let us know if this works or if it actually a different problem.
