I would like to use center on both and then move the object group at will to different places...

If you are talking about in Designer go to the carving list, select the object, or place the curser point on the object and select, click on Layout, hover the curser over center, (first on the list) the arrow over will show both vertical and horizontal as blue, click on either and it will no longer hold to center, go through this process untill you have selected and uncentered each object of concern in each direction of concern. You should be able to select all the object you want to move by chosing the first one, holding the shift key and selecting the rest. You should now be able to move them together, unless one has been held in place by manually typing in a distance from the edge or center.
I apologize if I am oversimplifying or not understanding the question. I well remember once being soooo frusterated with an old computer that took paper tapes on reels with square holes punched to communicate with the machine. (That should tell you how old I really am) I couldn't make the machine work because no one told me you had to pull the paper tape past the first section of square holes that were in a straight line.
Sometimes a thing can be so simple once you already know it that you wouldn't even think to explain it.

Good luck, let us know if this works or if it actually a different problem.

    Thanks, I appreciate your help.

But, when I try to import the pattern Designer says it is corrupt or an invalid file format?

Ken I was able to save and open Blantz's PTN with version 1.151, are you trying to open it with an older version?

    Yep! 1.134.
I can't do without reliable centerline so I won't go to 1.15x till they fix it.
Thanks for making me realize why I can't open the file. Dangit, it's a real nice lathe pattern too.

Strange thing here tho. When I try to open yours the error is clear that the file was made with a newer version. When I try to open B Lantz's the error is file corrupted or invalid format.

    Default wood lathe

    Ken,
Here is the PNG image I used to make the pattern of the wood lathe. I’m not sure if it will import into designer very well after posting here. You can give it a try if you wish.

I guess 1.151 is not available to us lowly users.

Ken, I think someone is going to too much cooperative protection, with there programs. I can not open my MPW files with my programs with version 1.151 on my older programs. I run two hard drives when I make patterns on two computer systems. I am seeing in the last two down loads things are not working right

Default Ken you can do work arounds???

I think they should redo the software and make it work fully so you can use all functions, including centerline, STL and the probe. It sure would make it easier for this 72 year old man – have a good day

I pray and it helps me. We need a good CW unit to make great carvings; the government gives us a hard enough time. BJB

Can you open this one? - it is a older file - if you can I think your system is working OK.
