new toy and technique I've been playing with - glass engraving

Well, I got a new toy to accompany my Carvewright- a silhouette cameo plotter/cutter. The last couple of days I've been having fun doing glass etching. I started out with etching cream - but didn't like the effect


I moved on to a small sandblaster (air eraser from harbor freight) and the effect has been much better
my second etch was OK

by the time I got to my third, I was helping out a friend and "got it"






Pretty fun, and I'm having a blast-- I'm more than happy to answer any questions you guys may have. I think this will be a great compliment to my CW and I look forward to future projects

Make the Cut software is a good software to use with vinyl cutters. I use it for paper die cuts.

I didn't expect to find this here. Haven't been here since 2007. I bought a Cameo about two weeks ago and it is still in the box. I have plans to get it set up this week. Looks like great fun.

I have been sand carving for years and some time I am going to tie the cw carving and the sand carving together.

I'll scan some of my work and share it with you and other.

Many many years back I worked with Photo Abrasive Company, in testing new films and such.
I like the Silicon Carbide over the Aluminum Oxide myself.
