turn off the "feather" option- it defaults to 1/8.

Hi Lawrence thanks,
Looking to get the carve region gone from around clipart that I want to import into designer. Any ideas???

when you import the image into designer, in the import box try lowering the pattern some to remove the background.

I've wondered about the same issue. When you import an image or ptn file, you can can adjust the height easy enough, but how about when someone shares a mpc file and you extract the patterns? Often, they extract with the carve region around them. Can you fix that without the Pattern Editor software?
Removing carve region around graphic??

If you have the original graphic and you are doing the importing into designer use a graphics program like free paint.net. select and delete the background then save as a png file. Then import into designer, the background will be gone with no adjustment necessary. This will only work when you have the artwork. MPC's which you did not make yourself cannot be edited in pattern editor. I will post some pics in a little while of what I am talking about.
These might get you started, Back ground removed with Paint.Net also added a little Blur with it to clean up the edges
