    EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS TO ME THE WINDOW ON THE BOTTOM OF THE z-TRUCK IS DIRTY.

    if you put small mirror on the traction belt under the carving head,
    you will get a pretty good look at the lens of the board sencer.
    I use a fine painters brush and a little low pressure air to clean
    mine after nearly every carving. I've only had to replace mine once
    in 4 years due to damage to one of the screws.

    There is quite a lot of information posted here on the forum about troubleshooting the "clear board sensor" message. Using the Search feature, I found several threads that may be helpful (tip...when using search, enclose your search term in quotation marks...for example: "clear board sensor" )
