    I was asked not long ago about software that could make 3D heads scans for carving on the CW this software is not released but soon will be.

    Sounds interesting. I am afraid though it will end up as expensive as their other products and the average person will not be able to afford them.

    Looks like its a free trial download good until end of 2012. This sounds very kool. Seems like it could work to generate STL files for carving with the CW. Thnx for sharing your find LG.

    There have been a number of such systems over the past 1.5 years or so. The key word in the video is 'photorealistic'. All the other versions of this type of software I have seen produce a very coarse mesh that is not very accurate. The bitmap from the image then gets overlaid and it looks OK to the eye but the underlying 3D model is not really that great. Perhaps they have managed to do a bit better job with this package but I suspect it still will not work well enough for carving purposes.
