Default purpose of the TRY button in the store

Just what is the purpose of the TRY button in the pattern depot? I was looking through the projects and saw an interesting one. I noticed the TRY button next to the BUY button, well that sounded worth checking out, so I clicked it. It immediately downloaded the project to me, so I fired up designer and tried to open the project. When I did, I got an error saying I needed a license to open that file. Why does TRY download the file to me if I can't open it anyway?

I believe the "try" feature only works with single patterns and not projects. I think you can view the instruction file, usually PDF, for the projects tho..
