Thread: Resize rectangle with rounded corners

Default Resize rectangle with rounded corners

    Hello,

I have a rectangle I created with rounded corners. I used arcs and then connected them with line segments. My problem is I need to resize the long sides but when I do the corners get weird. Is there a way to shorten the sides and keep all the other dimensions? I attached the file.

    Thanks,

    Chris

Start by removing all of the radius and length constraints - right-click on the yellow numbers, click remove constraint.

That didn't quite do it. I need all the corners to remain exactly the same as they are. Its like I need to select the arcs and short side and drag it, but there is no way to do it in this program. I really need to be exact with the measurements, it won't work to just look correct. Attached is the result from me entering the size I need on the sides. I really wish this software was more intuitive and more like Illustrator.

Sorry, I'm lost - the pic below is what I get when I open your mpc.......

Clearly that's not what you're designing, and without being able to see the desired outcome, I can't help.

Maybe my designer is acting up? The first MPC the board setting is 10" wide 12" long and it does not fit! So changing the board size I see the design and it looks like a triangle. I didn't pay attention in geometry, but the top line is longer then the base. Like Jerry (the cat lover!) said you can change the measurements. Then I looked at the other MPC and it does not fit on the board by the width and the design is different.

So what are you trying to do! I use Corel to make designs and then copy and import to the designer. I would think you can do that with illustrator?

Neither of your MPCs appear to be the original rectangle. Would/could you post that MPC?

    Hello,

I would just redraw the rectangle with chamfered corners using the Line Tool and Snap/Grid, then use the Change to Arc Tool at the corner area(s) you need rounded . Probably take 1 or 2 minutes!

If you want to change the size of your drawing, make sure nothing is locked. Group your drawing and resize the drawing with the yellow arrows. You can make it any size you want and move it around on your board.
