Following up from last night enclosed are dragon hand salad tossers (dragon sporks). Again, I have not carved them so play around with the patterns.

I am wondering why you guys do not use the Place Tabs feature?

I think I have tried place tap on this type of 2 sided carve and placing buttons or squares works better. Place tabs is designed for pierced carving at the bottom. Just going by my remembering which at my age is not good.

You can place the tabs at any depth you want. They are useful.

Have any of you had issues when placing tabs distorts the pattern? I've made patterns and spent quite a bit of time on placement of tabs to avoid distortion. My objective when placing them is to have the end result resemble the tabs on an auto cutout with outline where outside the pattern and not inclusive. Recommendations??

Seen that also. I think (oops ) that it is the function of how far over the pattern the tab line is and the width/height of your tab settings.

Bit Optimization was introduced for user tabs in 2.006. I think this helps with the nearby damage that can happen to the pattern edge due to the tabs.

You can place the tabs at any depth you want. They are useful.

I think the place tabs tool is only active for placing tabs across a pierced carve region. Otherwise, the button on the toolbar isn't active.

EDIT: in version 1.187 the button is active but does nothing except on a pierced carve region.
