getting rid of fuzzies

Here are some pictures of getting rid of fuzzies. I have a set of x-acto knives . The one pictured has interchangable tools like round, 90 deg. vgroove straight chisel works grat.

I know everybody thinks I am crazy, but I lightly torch the feathers...fuzzies! Lightly is the key and then using a tooth brush or soft brush and they are gone!

Ya can add me to that Crazy List, --- I've been Lighting Up those "feather -- fuzzies" for years!!

Where did ya get that set of knives?? Looks like it would be handy for a lot of different things.

You should be able to find one of those X-Acto brand knife & tool sets (or the components you need) at any well stocked hobby store or on line at sites like Micro Mark. I'm never without my knives and chisels in the shop.

I have tried Ike's "crazy man" method of using a torch, with some success. I do tend to burn some areas though as I can't quite get the hang of how lightly to move the flame across the wood.

Wondering if anyone has ever used a heat gun to try and remove fuzzies... anyone try this ? I'm thinking it should probably work and may be more controllable than a torch

I use the tourch and knives but have good luck with the 6' mops sold by CW.

I use them in drill press at about 4000 RPM's

they make short work out of it.

I have used a brass BBQ brush and that gets rid of most. Capt Barry

I too use a small brass brush sold at Lowe's welding section, and I also use the Drummel multi tool with the triangle sanding pad with a 120 grit paper
along the sides,cause you can get in the corners very easy and it will keep the sides very flat too.
