Thread: Bug - Endless loop trying to measure board

  1. Default Bug - Endless loop trying to measure board

I carved a simple two sided project. Made some changes to the project and went back to carve it again. The first side carved correctly but after I flipped the board the machine went in to an endless loop trying to measure across the board. I hit Stop and the Abort - Retry screen came up but either option sent it back to endlessly trying to measure across the board. I ended up shutting off the machine and restarting to get control.

sensor may be hitting hole . Try putting tape over them when flipping.

Do the white paper on the board sensor check. Get 150 good...

The other trick here is that when you flip the board, position it so it measures the width in the same location as before you flipped it. This is for the case if your board was tapered.

If your board wasn't jointed properly, it could cause problems, though.

I will check the sensor and remember the tape trick - I have used that before - but it still went back to the loop after I hit abort.
I thought it should have just gone back to the Project screen.

If the Y head moves back and fourth rapidly it could be a loose wire on the Y motor plug or a bad motor or computer driver transistor...
