Default Here's a Few For Us Signmakers

My Brother-In-Law sent me these - print 'em off, and put 'em in your file - they'll make for some pretty good signs for next craft fair.

    Old Farmer's Advice

“Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.”

“Keep skunks and bankers at a distance.”

“Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.”

“A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.”

“Words that soak into your ears are whispered…....not yelled.”

    “Meanness don't just happen overnight.”

“Forgive your enemies; it messes up their heads.”

“Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.”

“It don't take a very big person to carry a grudge.”

“You cannot unsay a cruel word.”

“Every path has a few puddles.”

“When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.”

“The best sermons are lived, not preached.”

“Most of the stuff people worry about, ain't never gonna happen anyway.”

“Don 't judge folks by their relatives.

“Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.”

“Live a good and honorable life, then when you get older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time.”

“Don 't interfere with somethin' that ain't bothering you none.”

“Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.”

“If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'.”

“Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.

“The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin'.”

“Always drink upstream from the herd.”

“Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.”

“Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin' it back in.”

“If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around.”

“Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God.”

“Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.”

I'd seen another version as "Knowledge given freely, or gained too easily is quickly forgotten."

A few more from a gun totin' buddy.....

    1.
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.

    2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

    3.
I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy.

    4. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.

    5.
A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him 'Why doyou carry a 45?' The Ranger responded, 'Because they don't make a 46.'

    6. An armed man will kill an unarmed man with monotonous regularity.

    7.
The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. 'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?' 'No ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle.'

    8. Beware of the woman who only has one gun, because she probably knows how to use it very well.

'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K. Chesterton

A people that values its privileges above its principles will soon lose both.

"Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not..."- Thomas Jefferson.

    A few more:

We live in a society where pizza gets to our house before the police.

Light travels faster than sound. That's why people appear bright until you hear them speak.

War doesn't determine who is right-only who is left.

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.

The evening news is where they begin with 'Good evening', and then proceed to tell you why it isn't.

A bank is a place that will lend you money, if you can prove you don't need it.

Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are sexy.

The musician who confides that he never practices isn't revealing a secret.

Never hit a man with glasses. Hit him with a lead pipe.

Why is it that most nudists are folks you don't wanna see naked.

When you go into court, you are putting yourself into the hands of people weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty.

Why is it so hard for women to find men who are sensitive, caring and good-looking? Because those men already have boyfriends.

My brother married Miss Right. He just didn't know her first name was Always.

Alcohol is a perfect solvent: it dissolves marriages, families and careers.

Women should not have children after 35. Really....35 children are enough.
