    Default First real carving

    Since getting my machine this past Friday I have done a few practice carvings, but here is the first real thing I have done.



    It's just a simple house number sign in pine for the inlaws (showing the machine off to the father-in-law today).

    Default Looks good ...

    I like the style you came up with, using the lion on the medallion. How do you plan on finishing it? It looks to be made of pine, so remember if it's going to be outside, to use a "marine" finish to repel water. There are some good "spar poly" finishes out there. Be sure and post the finished picts! Keep up the good work.

    My father-in-law is going to finish it himself (he is a woodworker as well), I'll get some pics the next time I'm down there.

    Jeff, did you instruct the program to cut out the outline or just outline it and you cut it with a jigsaw?
    The 50-50-90 rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

    Do it on a Mac.
