Thank you for showing me what the design would look like when carved
I figured that the pattern made from a picture or art work would be Flat
and that would work also with want I want to do.
But I would not need the design already in a frame. If that makes sense

    Thank you for your time.........

I need to buy me a CarveWright machine !!!!!!!

    That would be perfect.

I work at a printing company and many years ago one of the graphic artists used to do art work for me
then a polymer plate could be made (think of a very large rubber stamp with out the handle)
(each red square is one inch)

I would trim the edges off the polymer and make a mold then cast the design in a cold cast medium.
This is a sprayed silicone rubber mold

And the cold cast aluminum copy.

I thank everyone for their help and input.......

How do you get the stl model ???? please explain

STL part of the forum ??? would be under what heading

stl's are made with 3d programs like zbrush, moi silo etc. there are a lot of free models floating around on the net.

under the software page of the forum there are sub catagories for stl, dxf etc.

    Thanks Andrew

I guess what I am asking is how do you get the stl model from the source
such as the game that the rifle came from.

Also could something the size of a helmet be made on the CarveWright
    in right and left half's.
