No, I don't know why it works! Wish I did. I should probably "Check with a Tech"

I was not able to play with this artwork as I am still using 1.153.....

I see the Guitar closed path. If you wanted to be able to flip this, all you would need to do is create a carve region from the area and then outline it... Delete the carve region and first line drying. Keep the outline and assign a bit to it and you can rotate or flip it.

And if you save that AL,
you can make a Flippable Pattern

    Hi AL,

That doesn't work (I'm using 1.164 if that has anything to do with it). I saw you posted something similar the other day (http://forum.carvewright.com/showthr...114#post135114) - didn't work for me then either, unless I'm missing something!

Can you post a simple MPC where that procedure works for you?

(BTW, saving as a pattern WILL work, of course.)

We looked at the problem. The flipping problem is a limitation of our current constraint engine. The constraint engine does a number of things but in this case, it is mainly keeping the arc centers the equal distances from arc end points. Since there are so many arcs it probably makes a bad assumption, doesn't come up with a solution that is good enough, and gives up.

By setting the radius you are basically giving the system an additional hint, which allows it to get a good answer. In other cases where you have lots of constraints you may actually need to remove some to get it to solve.
