    Default Bits and pieces

I have need of a new 1/16 carving bit. I do not know which chuck I have but the bit is held into the collar with 2 set screws and the bit has a flat area on each side. Where can I buy just the bit?? Is it available by itself or do I need to buy the whole assembly?? CW's website shows the whole assembly and does not appear to sell the individual bit alone.

It sounds like you still are using the QC (quickchange) chuck. Carefully inspect your QC adapter, if you see any dimples or significant wear, you are better off replacing the whole thing. I beleive Jeff Birt, Ron Justice and several others may sell replacement bits on there own. Search for any message by them and follow the links in their signature.

Thanks for the quick response I looked up the two sites you mentioned, the bits are just just about the same price as the whole assembly so I will order it that way. I can always use another collar.

you can find them at Woodcraft, have to order from Lowes or Northern tool

I have lucked out Woodcraft has had each one when I needed it

this avoids the 12 buck shipping fee. NT shipped free the last time
