Default HELP!!! DXF Importer not working

I just purchased the DXF Importer, wanted to test out the sw and import a few of my dxf files. Well, when I did it would not import the file, it just blew away (closed the program) anyone have this problem? and if so, what is the fix. Thanks

    Hi Andrea,

Sorry to hear that, I have the same problem.

I ordered the DXF importer 2 months ago. It hasn't worked since I activated it (2 months ago). I contacted Alex at LHR software. He's been trying to find a fix for it.

So far no fix. I then asked Alex to send my money back two days ago. No response so far.

    Hi Andrea and Hank,

I'm sorry to hear you're running into a problem there, but the DXF importer seems to work fine at my end. I use CorelDraw X3 and X4 (and very rarely I'll use Adobe Illustrator CS4) to create my DXF's. What software are you using to make your DXF's?...and what export options are you choosing when you save/export them out of your software?

Maybe this will help...Here are the DXF types I have successfully exported and used/tested with the CarveWright DXF Importer...

    from Corel X3
    AutoCAD R13, R14, 2000, 2002, 2004

    from Corel X4
all of the above, plus AutoCAD 2005, 2006, 2007

    from Adobe Illustrator CS4
    AutoCAD R13/LT95, R14/LT97/LT98, 2000/LT2000, 2004, 2005, 2006

    Hey Michael,

I use both Corel X4 and Adobe Illustrator CS4. I also have eDrawings 2009.

    MT:

I use AutoCad 2009. Plus I downloaded DXF files from the internet. Also Alex sent me a DXF file of a chopper. None of them has worked.

Remember it need to be 2D polyline and not 3D. If your using 3D objects the STL program is what you need..

    Hi Andrea,

Strange - the dxf's exported from Corel and/or Illustrator should be working fine for you then. I have no idea why they wouldn't.

    Hank,

Have you tried saving your dxf's as an earlier AutoCAD version? Try it and see if that works for you. (again, being aware that they must be 2D - not 3D as LG pointed out)
