If you are running vista or windows 7, you already have a tool built in.. it is called th snipping tool.

I use Irfanview, it is free and it also can do some lite photo editing, resizing and screen captures.

Well the snip tool does work, thanks, didn't know about this new tool in Windows 7. You can always do a print screen which will copy the whole page and put into the clip board.

    Default snag-it

the best screen-shot+++++++++software is Snag-it from Techsmith. Not free. But I've always said "someting for nothing is worth exactly what you pay for it. I use Snag-it more than any other program on my computer.

I use Screen Shot 8 by Broderbund. Love it and you can do a LOT with it. Not free but well worth the money (49.99) in my book.

I've had it for years and it runs on any windows platform.

You can do screen shot just by hitting the print scr on your keyboard then paste and edit it in mspaint come with window. Unless you want more options.
