A customer picked up his 8 foot sign and ordered a custom jewelry box at the same time. Another customer bought a garden chair. I was a rainy thunderery day but nice and warm in the shop!

That is good to hear and nice work you got there Terry.
That's a nice sign Terry. Can I ask what font you used? I take it you didn't use a sled for this one?

The customer brought in a small sign about 24 inches long and wanted it reproduced exactly in an eight foot version. The font is monotype corsiva. No sled but it did take about an hour to trim off the edges and joint them to get them perfectly square and straight. A couple of test runs to make sure the board tracked straight while traveling through the machine. Once I was sure it was tracking straight and engaging the brass roller the whole time then I cut the letters. I think it was two and a half hours of carve time. I did use auxiliary rollers front and back to support the board. The sign is apparently going over a door of a church.
The sign looks very good as do the ones in the background. Very nice display area also.
You mention the customer bringing in a small version and having you make it bigger. I just had a customer bring in their business card and request making a plaque. You just never know what's going to be next.
