Thread: Toy box

    Default Toy box

Here is my version of a toy box for my granddaughter. The sides and top are edge-glued oak. The carvings were done on partially assembled panels at about 12” wide, and then additional boards glued on after that. The flutes on the 1-1/2” posts were carved on the machine with two posts fastened to each other for a 3” width. I wanted to add a decorative trim to the top. My wife suggested the alphabet, which was a great suggestion.

Now that is one nice toy box... she will love it, as were her kids some day. Tell your wife she is a natural the alpha-numeric pattern is a great idea. Thanks for sharing the idea and the tip about the panels.

    Great job!
Back when I was a boy, we carved our own IC's out of wood.
Before they invented drawing boards, what did they go back to?
