Thread: Designer Version 1.031 Released

  1. Default Designer Version 1.031 Released

    Designer version 1.031 is now available from the "Check for Updates" option in your Help menu. Macintosh beta testers can re-download the updated DMG file from the same link you used before.

    Updates in this version include:
    * Added Y reindex at beginning of project
    * Changed depth find process (depth flag no longer needed!)
    * Improved X/Y backlash correction
    * Improved operation of vectors for small radii
    * Fixed carving depth of small circles (<0.7" circumference)
    * Fixed drills when bit is same size as commanded hole.
    * Fixed feather above board
    * Fixed scaled text issues
    * Fixed drills to keep commanded depth, even if deeper than board depth
    * Fixed quality issues with tops of letters
    * Fixed occasional crash when placing concentric cirles
    * Fixed slow text dialog response which ocurred on some PCs

    Notes:
    The firmware included in this release no longer requires the depth flag. However, we recommend you hang on to the depth flag for a while in case problems are encountered with the new measurement methods. Unless you are having problems related to the depth flag, it is not necessary to remove it from the machine.

    I would love to see a spell checker in the text window soon for those of us dyslexic types. I can never be to carful, in my sign business I might have to replace a decal once in a while, that's easy, but here it's a whole new board, much easier to blow my profit margin.

    I hear ya there, I have my wife look at it before I go carve stuff.

    Also glad the hole problem got worked out, can't wait to do a project that needs them or I might just have to practice it.

    It apparently didn't get uploaded until this morning.

    Curious about Mac beta version updates.

    Are the Mac and PC versions updated equally? For instance, is the PC version more updated and stable while since the Mac software is beta it isn't updated?

    Thanks for your time

    The Mac software is no longer considered beta. I believe the old beta links now point to the current demo software.

    The PC and Mac versions are now updated equally.

    I copy then past into MS Word for spell checking, a pian but not as painful as re-cutting a work piece.
