Is there a way if I have a great peice of wood with nice grain and knots that I could take a digital picture and use that as the background while I insert teext and patterns? That way I know for sure where things are going to be when it comes to the grain & knots.

    thanks

You might try taking the picture and putting it in the foder called "woods1" under C:\Program Files\CarveWright\woods1. Maybe someone from CW can say for sure but the woods that are in that folder are just jpegs, not sure how the software will stretch the picture to fit on the wood in the software though.

After playing with it a bit I did get a picture of purpleheart I found to import. Only thing I had to do was rename the picture to match one of the others, I named it purpleheart_Natural. It didn't show up in the list to choose from until I added the _Natural on the end.
