Hi my name is Lawrence and I'm a tooloholic....

I've only been ww'ing 4 years or so and have

    Lathe (Nova DVR)
    Tablesaw (ridgid contractor)
    Floor model drill press (hitachi)
    Sjorbergs ww'er bench
    DeWalt scroll saw
    Rikon 10/6x48 disk/belt sander
    Jet sharpener with tormek jigs
slow speed grinder with wolverine jigs
    Carvewright
    Ridgid 6 in jointer
    Hitachi 13 in planer
Jet 1.5 hp canister dust collector
    Earlex hvlp
    Festool ts55 circ saw
    Festool ct22 dust extractor
    craftsman shop vac
    Performax 16/32 drum sander
    craftsman14 in bandsaw
    Delta chop saw on stand
    medium sided compressor
full nail gun range from pin to finish
    Makita 14.5 drill
    Makita 10.5 driver/impact driver
    Triton router in a table
    Firestorm plunge router
ancient (but love it) craftsman fixed base router

as you can tell, I LOVE tools, but also love making stuff with them. I've made hundreds of pens, bowls and handled items (ice cream scoops, tool handles, screwdrivers, etc) on the lathe, lots and lots of scroll work on the s-saw (ornaments, 3d animals etc), some flat work (cutting boards, picture frames, stepping stools, bookshelves, etc) but very little in the way of furniture.

Neat question, I was so detailed in case anyone has any questions on any of the tools-- I love to give honest reviews.

    Lawrence,

Why don't I see the Kapex in your list? It's so far above any other SCMS that I'm surprised NOT to see it.

    Thumbs up

Good Looking Shop Racer, nice set-up and room enough
to swing a length or two of lumber around too.

  7. Default Tools in your shop

John, now that is a shop. It’s half the size of my house and we have trouble keeping it cleaned, from the looks of it, that’s one of your problems. It reminds me of a fellow in seven points, TX; he had a two story barn. The whole first floor was his wood shop. He made a lathe that he could turn eight foot bed post on. Very nice shop indeed. From the looks of the two chairs, you and your friends do beautiful work.

I have more tools than I do shop!

3 table saws (2 benchtop, 1 floormodel with 7ft rails)
    Dust Collection
    Air Comp.
    CW
    Lathe
    Bandsaw
    Drillpress
    Beltsander (big floormodel & hand)
    numerous small sander, drills, routers
    Scroll saw
self made CNC machine - 3-axis
    kreg master system
    power carvers
    carving chainsaw
    planer
    jointer
    router table
    router crafter
    mortising machine
    nailers
    Radial arm saw
If you need it, I got it.

My shop is 10x20 I have enough room to breathe, but have to stick to smaller projects due to space. I have a workshop at the place I work, but still not enough room.

I WANT a 32x48 shop, but the land I live on is the mother in law's, and I don't want to put nothing on it that is permanent. Waiting for some land to build a shop on. and maybe an upstairs for living.
